2001 – ICMMA (Interfaith Children’s Movement of Metropolitan Atlanta) officially launches at first prayer breakfast held on September 11, 2001, with some 400 attendees; keynote speaker Mrs. Marian Wright Edelman, Children’s Defense Fund
2002 – Interfaith steering committee is formed to lead ICMMA. The Barton Child Policy and Law Center at Emory University School of Law provided staff support.
2002 - First Day at the Capitol Event
2003 – First executive director was hired, and ICMMA’s structure and reach were extended.
2008 – ICMMA votes to become Interfaith Children’s Movement and extend its focus to faith communities all over Georgia. ICM is selected to be the grassroots, faith community arm of the JUSTGeorgia coalition.
2009 - ICM in Cobb was established and held its first meeting at MUST Ministries in Marietta.
2010 - ICM in Cobb holds its first Celebration of Children Conference at Turner Chapel AME in Marietta.
2010 - ICM was recognized for its work on behalf of children by the Cobb County School District School Social Workers and the Marietta City School Social Workers at their Community Appreciation Breakfast. A special note of thanks goes to Rebecca Whicker for identifying ICM as a worthy recipient of this honor.
2011 - End Mass Incarceration/Healing Communities Network held its first meeting.
2011 - ICM was recognized for its work on juvenile code reform by The Sapelo Foundation and awarded the prestigious Smith Bagley Advocacy Award.
2012 – ICM is selected by Governor’s Office for Children and Families to provide anti-commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) trainings to social workers and other child-serving professionals across the state.
2014 – ICM becomes a lead partner of JUSTGeorgia coalition.
2015 - ICM in Cobb partners with Marietta First Presbyterian Church to hold the first Celebration of Children: A Day in the Park.
2016 - ICM's Youth Alliance is established.
2017 – ICM moves onto the campus of The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA.
